Say hello to the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, the newest version of the brand's best-selling vehicle.
A vehicle that did not really have a category when it debuted 12 years ago has now become the fastest-selling vehicle in history for Subaru of America, with more than a million units sold. In 2022, the Crosstrek had its best sales year ever, achieving 155,142 units sold. Subaru attributes the success of the Crosstrek to its ample passenger and cargo space, long list of standard and available features, and its versatility and capability: all in a compact SUV at a competitive price.
For 2024, the Crosstrek will be available in four trims: Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited.
For the first time, Crosstrek production will occur in the U.S. The 2.5-liter Sport and Limited will be produced at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana, and will begin arriving in Subaru retailers this summer. Production of the 2.0-liter Base and Premium will continue at the Subaru plant in Gunma, Japan, and will be available at Subaru retailers this spring.
We got our hands on this Premium trim model in an amazing shade of Offshore Blue Metallic. With the smaller 2.0L Boxer engine paired with the Lineartronic® CVT and Symmetrical AWD, this little hatchback would make a lot of noise on its way up to highway speeds. This is definitely a performance vehicle, but that is not why consumers flock to Crosstrek. Fans of this small hatch love its sense of adventure.
New for 2024 are updated looks inside and out, Starlink 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a stiffer chassis for better ride quality and a quieter cabin. Steering was borrowed from the new WRX for a more natural, responsive, and direct feel. All for a price similar to the outgoing 2023 model.
After the wild popularity of the previous two generations of Crosstrek, there is just more to love with this new 2024 model. If you liked it before, it is better now.
