We have teased you long enough! We are excited to formally announce the Garage Talk Unlikely Heroes Car Show hosted by Hilltop Church of the Nazarene.
Yes, we are putting on a car show and we are VERY excited about it!
As mentioned in today's podcast episode (July 31), we have a good friend in Spencer who shared this wonderfully glorious thought with us, "What if there was a car show for the cars that actually get us around? The high mileage, the dented and scratched, the daily driver, the ugly and undesirable, to show appreciation for the cars that can go well over 200k and still keep on going.."
We LOVED it, and we have been hard at work on the back end trying to make this happen logistically in a world of some COVID-19 uncertainty.
What we came up with is the Unlikely Heroes Car Show, hosted by Hilltop Church of the Nazarene.
Saturday, October 24, 2020
10am - 2pm
Hilltop Church of the Nazarene
10818 University Blvd
Tyler, TX 75707
We are taking cues from the drive-in concerts that are popping up around the country and mark off our parking lot to accomidate a car, the spot next to the car will be for the owners to tailgate and sit to share their cars many stories, and then an empty space for physical distancing. Due to this, space for participating cars is limited and we will only be taking the first 50 registered vehicles.
$15 to register your car and you will be entered for prizes and awards.
Prizes will be awarded* for:
Most Miles
Best DIY Repair
Sketchiest (most likely to fail a safety inspection)
Patchwork (most mismatched body panels)
Leaky Bladder (biggest puddle left behind)
Lightweight (missing most factory panels/parts)
People’s Choice
