👎 Buick Envista: No all-wheel drive option
👎 Buick Envista: Too much hard plastic inside
Top 5 Features: Who did it best?
1. Powertrain
🏆 Winner: Genesis GV70
With a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 pushing 375 horsepower and AWD, the GV70 obliterates the Envista’s 1.2L 3-cylinder. It's not even close.
2. Infotainment & Displays
🏆 Winner: Genesis GV70
A massive 27-inch OLED display and 16-speaker B&O system give Genesis the edge over Buick’s 11-inch touchscreen and basic 6-speaker setup.
3. Interior Comfort
🏆 Winner: Genesis GV70
Heated, ventilated, and massaging Nappa leather seats vs. heated leather-appointed seats? The GV70 pampers. The Envista… provides.
4. Fuel Economy
🏆 Winner: Buick Envista
30 MPG combined on regular gas vs. 21 MPG on premium. If you’re budget-conscious, Buick keeps your wallet thicker at the pump.
5. Price-to-Feature Ratio
🏆 Winner: Buick Envista
You won’t find adaptive cruise, wireless CarPlay, and a stylish body for $30K many places. Buick punches way above its weight class here.

Style Clash: Bold Looks at Both Price Points
We recently had the chance to get a head-to-head comparison of two very popular luxury crossovers on the market. And I have to say, Genesis comes out swinging with what can only be described as "Baby Bentley" styling. Ceres Blue paint, 21-inch wheels, and a massive grille scream confidence. Inside, you get Nappa leather, orange seat belts, and a suede headliner, say you're serious about your car game.
The Envista Avenir, while not as dripping in flash, takes major cues from the Wildcat concept. Its Ocean Blue Metallic finish and coupe-like silhouette grab attention, especially considering it starts under $31K. For a daily driver, it doesn’t just look the part, it’s surprised me with how much it delivers at such an affordable cost.

Performance: Twin-Turbo Torque vs Turbo Three-Banger
Under the GV70’s hood is a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 churning out 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Paired with AWD and an 8-speed auto, it delivers a refined but forceful driving experience. Smoothing out the ride, it comes with a suspension that scans the road ahead to prep for bumps. Unreal.
The Envista rolls with a 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder. Just 137 hp, but it gets you 30 MPG combined and costs as much as the Genesis. You’re not setting lap records, but it’ll keep your wallet happy on your daily grind.
Interior Comfort: Massage vs Manual
If you want buttery smooth, it’s the GV70 all day. From the heated/massaging driver's seat to the whisper-quiet cabin, it’s like rolling down the highway in a spa. Add in the OLED display, ambient lighting, and tri-zone climate, and you may never want to get out.
The Buick is a simpler experience. Single-zone climate, no power tilt/telescope steering wheel, and fewer plush materials. But it still offers heated leather seats, a surprisingly roomy back seat, and a quiet ride with active noise canceling. You’ll notice the price difference, but not in a painful way.
Tech Game: OLED vs Just Enough
Genesis is loaded with tech: a 27-inch OLED screen, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, HUD, and wireless Apple CarPlay. The tech is clean, cohesive, and immersive.
Buick gives you an 8-inch driver display and an 11-inch infotainment screen, also with wireless smartphone integration. And while it's not the flashiest setup, it’s intuitive and fast enough to satisfy your everyday needs.
Final Verdict: Bang for Your Buck or Blow the Budget?
The Genesis GV70 is peak luxury for the price. Every detail has been obsessed over. From the engine to the cabin, it feels worth every penny… if you've got the pennies.
But don’t sleep on the Buick. It’s efficient, stylish, and makes a case as the smart luxury buy for someone not trying to flex with a second mortgage. Buick has long been known for comfort and refinement; this SUV simply brings that legacy to a more accessible price point.
Whether you're chasing horsepower or hunting value, both of these SUVs prove that luxury comes in more than one form. At the end of the day, it’s all about what fits your lifestyle and wallet. No matter which badge you choose, you’re getting a vehicle that delivers on presence, comfort, and everyday usability.
