2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid: A Perfectly Fine Large Sedan

Honda is remaking their entire lineup with cleaner, more mature, and simple styling and focusing more on hybrid power. The 2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid is the latest addition to Honda's popular sedan lineup.

With its upgraded looks, powertrain options, technology, and safety features, the Accord Sport Hybrid is a modern take on the family sedan and is powered exclusively by a 204-hp hybrid powertrain mated to a continuously variable transmission, which offers decent acceleration but impressive fuel efficiency for such a large vehicle.

The electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), with Deceleration Selectors, offers a smooth and seamless driving experience. The 4-Mode Drive System includes Sport, ECON, and Individual Modes, allowing drivers to customize the car's performance according to their preferences, though we left it in ECON for most of our time with it. The Motion Management System provides additional stability and control, ensuring a comfortable and safe ride.

The exterior of the 2023 Accord Sport Hybrid looks sleek and stylish though perhaps a bit “boring” to some. The car comes with black 19-Inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, a gloss-black deck lid spoiler, and a self-opening trunk, making it look sportier and more aggressive than non-sport models. The car's interior is spacious and comfortable, with leather-wrapped seats with 2-person driver’s seat memory, a one-touch power moonroof, an 8-speaker, 180-watt audio system, dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 60/40 split folding rear seat back.

The 2023 Accord Sport Hybrid is equipped with updated technology. It comes with Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Wireless Android Auto™ compatibility, a 12.3-inch color touch-screen infotainment system with Alexa built-in, a smart entry proximity key w/Walk Away Auto Lock®, and 2 front USB-C ports. The car's safety features include Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Road Departure Mitigation System, Blind Spot Information w/Cross Traffic Monitor (available), Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control w/Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System w/Traffic Jam Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Overall, the 2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid is a perfectly fine large sedan. While it may not be the most exciting car to drive, it offers excellent fuel efficiency, ample space and comfort, and a host of advanced technology and safety features. It is a great choice for families or commuters who want a reliable and practical vehicle.
